Kakheti is one of the most fragrant regions of Georgia, the birthplace of wine. Let's visit the city of love of Sighnaghi. A small, but unusually beautiful city will drag us into the labyrinth of narrow cozy streets. Due to its location, Signagi allows you to admire the beautiful views of the Alazani Valley, and in good weather you can even see Kazbeg. In the city are 23 towers and 6 gates, the city is surrounded by a defensive wall built in the 18th century, which Georgians proudly call the Georgian "Chinese Wall". Here is the museum of the outstanding Georgian artist N. Pirosmani, where 16 original paintings of the great master are kept.

2 km from Sighnaghi is a cypress-covered monastery Bodbe (IX century), Beautiful place with amazing view of Alazany valley. Today, there is a nunnery where the monastery used to be, and the St. George Cathedral, part of the monastery, holds the remains of St. Nino, Equal to the Apostles, who brought Christianity to Georgia. There is also a new cathedral being built, using much of the same construction methods used to make the most famous cathedrals in Georgia centuries ago.

It is impossible to leave Kakheti without trying local wine, so we'll go to the winery, see how the wine is made in the marani's home cellar, taste a few sorts’ wines and chacha, dine and take part in a master class on making Georgian sweets.

Visit Davit Gareja cave complex (6th c.) located on the border of Georgia and Azerbaijan. The monastery exerted significant influence in Georgia, being a center of fresco painting and manuscript rewriting. You will visit wonderful painted caves and see dramatic views. Hundreds of cells, churches, refectories and living quarters have been hewn into the rock face at the steep slopes of Mount Gareja. Saint David, an Assyrian Monk, founded the monastic complex in the 6th century and it was steadily expanded during the following centuries.The monastery complex has been an important center of religious and cultural activity for hundreds of years and this reached its height between the 11th and 13th centuries. The monastery complex was always closely linked with the royalty of Georgia, but the downfall of the Georgian monarchy did not put an end to the monastic activities at Davit Gareja. Neither did the attacks by the Mongols in the 13th century, or the attacks of the Persians in the 17th century. After a hike up the mountain next to the monastery, you can see views of the Azerbaijani border. When climbing down the other side of the mountain, you come across the caves built into the side of the mountain. These caves contain traces of fresco paintings, some of which are fully intact. Some may argue that this is more interesting than the monastery itself. Since the area is not frequented by tourists, you can also see some interesting wildlife.

City of Gori has long been synonymous with just one man: this is the town where Stalin was born and went to school.

Uplistsikhe - This fascinating and once enormous cave city with expansive views along the Mtkvari valley. The cave town can be divided into a lower, a central and an upper area, covering an area of almost 40,000 square meters. The central area, which contains most of the rock-cut structures, is connected to the lower area by narrow tunnel. Most of the rock-cut structures are without any decorative elements, aside from some of the larger structures, which contain some stone carvings.

Borjomi is a town in central Georgia as well as the name of a natural reserve and of the famous volcanic salty spring water. The source of this spring water lies in the Borjomi gorge. Borjomi is a famous resort town, popular for its distinct mineral water. The water from the well here is several times stronger than the Borjomi water you can buy in the shops. Borjomi town was very popular in soviet times, of which you will still find many buildings in the city. A cable car beside the Mineral Water Park entrance runs up to a hilltop Ferris wheel and the pine woods of the Borjomi Plateau (nice for a walk). About 2km south along the road from the Ferris wheel, a trail leads down to the pool above the Mineral Water Park and you can return to town that way.
