- Phoka Nunnery of St. Nino - Five nuns and one novice live in St. Nino’s Nunnery, which opened in 1992 in the village of Phoka, Samtskhe-Javakheti, led by Mother Elisabed. They produce a European style of Georgian cheese, honey, chocolate and other products. The nuns also work on enamel and make mosaics.

- Vardzia cave complex consists of approximately 600 rooms survived of a total 3 000, cut in the rock and located in five, six, seven and sometimes twelve tiers, which included stables, barracks, bakeries, wine presses and stores.
- Rabati Castle - A renovated Rabati Castle was opened in Akhaltsikhe in August 2012. Restoration and reconstruction works on Rabati began in May 2011 and covered a space of seven hectares. Old, nearly destroyed buildings were restored by architects and engineers, using archive materials and images. A mosque, a minaret, a synagogue, a Christian church, the Jakelis’ Palace, a museum and a citadel are the restored antique buildings, which can be seen at the renovation site.

- Chiatura city and cable car - Chiatura, mining town located in a mountain valley on the banks of the Qvirila River in Imereti region of Western Georgia 182km from Tbilisi, is famous for its picturesque landscape and Soviet era cable cars which according to dailymail despite its rusty and ageing appearance, is one of the most incredible engineering spectacles in the world. The cable cars were used to transport workers from the city to mining sites. Installing Cable cars Soviet government made it easy for workers to travel from the bottom of hilly gorges to work on the top of hills.

- Katskhi Pillar - The most notable site Katskhi Pillar located near Chiatura (13.4km) is one of the most popular tourist spots of the country and symbol of this region. There is one monk living in the Monastery above and women are disallowed to go up. It is approximately 40 metres high (surface 150 m2), and overlooks the small river valley of Katskhura.
